A new vehicle EMC Directive (2004/104/EC) has now been published.
New Vehicles components must comply with the new Directive
from 1st July 2006. e-marking (95/54/EC) will not be required under
the new Directive for non-immunity related aftermarket accessories,
but manufacturers will need to self-certify compliance with the
requirements for emissions and conducted transients and obtain a
certificate from the automotive authorities certifying that their
products are not related to immunity and do not need to type
approval.
