Our Partner, NoTangle has announced PocketPM.
PocketPM is a new mobile
application to issue traffic fines. Hand-written traffic tickets
will soon be a thing of the past with the replacement of a handheld
computerised ticketing device. The new system will significantly reduce errors associated with
hand-written tickets. According to some estimates and statistics,
millions of unpaid fines get passed over due to the errors
associated with hand written tickets. With this new system, police
and traffic enforcement officers simply collect the data for the
vehicle and the assessed violations. They then input the data into
PocketPM and as further proof a picture associated with the fine is taken by using a digital
camera which is bundled with the PDA. A traffic summons will be printed on the spot by a portable
printer connected via IrDA or Bluetooth. Periodically the PDA is
synchronised with the base station server where the fines can be
processed.

The LifeView FlyCAM series digital video camera and Spectec SD
camera allows all Pocket PM functionalities.
